$475,000 for slip and fall accident due to ice under snow on sidewalk

A man was walking home on a public sidewalk in front of a condominium in Brooklyn when he
slipped and fell. It was snowing at the time of his accident and he slipped on ice which was
hidden underneath the snow. Our law firm hired an expert meteorologist who examined the
weather reports and radar and determined that the ice on the sidewalk underneath the snow which
was falling had been there from a previous snow storm seven days before. The meteorologist
also determined that the ice was on the sidewaik because the people who shoveled the snow after
the last snow storm did not remove all of the snow and did not prevent it from re-freezing and
turning to ice. The client fractured his lower leg and underwent surgery where they inserted a nail
and screws to stabilize it. The case settled after everyone testified at depositions and before the

trial began.
